I would anticipate the use of Dual AVCS considering that the Subaru FB engine is currently employing that system.
From what I read the AVCS system it is very similar to VVT-i (and most Variable Valve Timing Systems). Hydraulic pressure (engine oil) is used to rotate the camshaft/s. I'm going to go out on a limb that this is done at the cam gear and has ~30 degrees of maximum rotation.
