Tell me who doesn't thrash their s2000 and track their cars? I mean, that's why they've bought one in the first place. If I'm going to buy a s2000 and drive like a granny, i'm better off with a 3Series or C Class if i'm not going to thrash my car.
How many stock s2000s have you seen? Personally, all the s2000 I've seen have been modified and tell me who doesnt rip it when there's curiousity to see what the mods have done.

Despite the mods and hard driving, the cars are STILL running, and are rock solid reliable.
Personally, I have zero issue with buying a used s2k, as long as the maintenance has been done diligently. That's all it needs to be in great mechanical shape.
On the flip side, the majority of s2ks are babied, not driven hard. Problem is, the owners that baby their cars aren't going to be selling... I'd guesstimate that there are maybe 100 s2k owners in California that hit the track at least once a year, but there are probably over 30k s2ks registered in CA.
Lets just hope the BRZ/FRS will be as reliable.
