I noticed that a lot of people are getting the P0019 which is a specific corner. Replacing the gears/ECU/reflashing/swapping OCV's doesn't work in some cases. The only common thing other than the engine itself would be the wiring and connectors. I don't know, just thinking out loud.

Maybe the reason these fixes seem to work with some cars and not others is that the harnesses and connectors are touched/unplugged/plugged in/etc while the warranty work is being performed, and the accidental fix is actually in the wiring/connectors themselves. This would also explain the wide randomness in mileage people are seeing the issue as well as why some owners never see the problem at all.
I've spent a lot of time staring at both crimps and IDC under high magnification, and certainly people get both wrong, sometimes badly, but I would be REALLY surprised to see bad connectors in an automotive wire harness.

This is probably all done on an AMP-O-MATIC class machine, and again, it would just be very surprising to see poor workmanship here.

I'm not sure I would buy intermittent connectors in a high vibration environment anyway. But, who can say...

I really ought to be out burning some gas right now to see if my CEL comes back, for my CSR's sake. I suspect I'll be less cranky if I get this failure again BEFORE my crickets are taken care of, as opposed to developing some sense I'm in the clear and can finally try to love my car again, and then throwing another P0019...
