Ah...that's right you have that front strut bar. That's not allowed in Stock class, but is allowed in STX, thus the conversation from the SD folks toward YOUR car is toward prepping it for STX.

My advice would be to review the lists of allowable modifications for Stock Class and STX, think about your budget and immediate goals. If you want to modify pretty extensively and run in a National class, STX would be a nice class to prep for.

If you want to focus more on driving than modifying the car in the beginning, I would advise you remove the strut bar for autocross days (put back the stock braces, of course), get some decent tires/alignment bolts, and run in the Stock class (CS) instead of the Street Touring class (STX). Once you get a feel for the sport you can always look to further modify the car for STX class.

Either way you choose, you'll have fun along the way!!
