I agree with pretty much everything you said, although I think the Miata top down was more fun than my current FR-S. It's close (the Miata's handling isn't as well balanced and it pitches and rolls more), but ultimately it's hard to beat the visceral experience of top-down motoring.

Top down it was pretty fun. I'll admit that. More so than the BRZ. But top up it was less fun.
