Not sure why there was so much negativity to the FRS as a first car.
Right now the majority of the current generation of kids think of cars as nothing more than A-B. There is no passion for cars, no posters of their dream car over the bed. How are we supposed to build a future generation on car fanatics if we stick them in crap cars?
If you raise your child well, around a culture of cars and responsible performance driving I see no problem with giving them a nice car.
It's not like his dad is throwing him the keys to an R35 GTR, which a friend of mine saw pulling into a HS parking lot the other day.
