In terms of using race brakes on the street, it all comes down to pad choice. You just need something that works well when cold. There's lots of choice out there for pads.

Very interested in this. I thought about buying some nice 6 pot Wilwood calipers and get some custom made caliper mounts, but if you will be doing a kit, that will be much better. Saves me all the hassle.
