I recently worked security at an event where I had to watch over 60 of these really nice cars made by an Italian automaker. Ferrari, perhaps you have heard of them? Anyway, each and every car at the event had an accordion section in the intake. EVERY single car.... They are there for a reason, not because the manufacture decided to get cheap. Any intake I put on my car will be leaving this section in place. This is one of the many reasons I think this intake is a great design.

Exactly. Some very high end intake designs keep a lot of the OEM intake intact such as Gruppe M, which I hope they make an intake for the FRS/BRZ
