The bottle necks in the OEM setup are really the snorkel at the front of the airbox, and the accordion section of the rubber pipe.. If that front half of the box maximizes that hole to the largest shape possible (within the constraints of existing cutout in the chasis) then it makes sense, as it improves one of those bottlenecks.

Not worth the cash they are asking, but I wouldn't doubt if this intake plus a high flow drop-in and a replacement elbow (like the AVO silicone piece) turns out to be the best performing intake on the market.

With what we know right now, the OEM seems to be a very good design. Little tweaks to that design may be a better plan than some thrown together intake from the aftermarket.

Awaiting results, of course... who knows it might suck... but theoretically, it make sense.

With the MR-S none of the aftermarket intakes made power (unless you had a 2zz swap and a programable EMS). However, replacing the snorkel inlet pipe that runs from the body side vent to the air box with a larger diameter piece did result in a few HP.
