Update: I was looking through the inventory of local dealerships, and found one "in transit" to the Renton dealership. I immediately called, and they said it wasn't spoken for. I went down immediately in person to validate this, and it turned out to be true. I've cancelled my order for the white one, which still had nowhere close to an ETA for delivery, and now will be getting the black sometime in the next two weeks.
Black was my second choice anyway, but chose white because I hadn't seen a black one in person. I saw a black one in Myrtle Beach on vacation last week, and wow...very nice. No regrets in changing colors, and maybe I'll actually get my car before the sun disappears for the winter.
Oh, I also ended up saving $2000. No dealer markup at Renton Subaru.
