Most of the hills and mountains around the Los Angeles area wouldn't let you see headlights coming from afar, especially not around rapid corners.
Also, I'd like to see you take a fast corner and then hit the brakes hard in your FR-S and see what happens. One reason ABS was invented to help you steer under braking since static friction is greater than kinetic friction, and to also reduces stopping distance. It won't save you from the inevitably weight shift and slide in the middle of the turn.
