Thats affordable for me. The 370Z, however, in the same situation, would come out at $560 a month...a retardedly high payment...
I'm with you on this...apples and oranges but I feel you get more bang for your buck in the FR-S/BRZ.

My experience and closest comparison:

In 03 I ran to the closest Nissan dealership and threw my rump in the finance box. I got 2k for my trade (08 mustang gt 5mt). Needless to say after all was said and done, I walked out with a black enthusiast model w/AT cuz they were selling so fast that was all that was left.
So life lesson learned here:
car under 30k @ 10% finance = $550/mo payment (I had 790 credit score btw)
a car that looked good and was Quick but I wouldn't "drive" cuz couldn't afford a ticket and the payment. IMO that car wasn't all that fun after a week.
and no matter how bad you want a car, don't let a finance guy bend you over!
I kept the z 6 months and traded it b/4 there was a KBB on it as to not get boned even harder.

FT-S/BRZ: way more fun to drive and a lot more "rare" in a sense, better financing options as well as no haggle price even @ msrp. And at least with a not so functional back seat you can still squeeze more than 2 people in it. I once had 3 people in my z, one in the trunk...NOT COOL.
can't compare a 6cyl to a 4cyl in a fair manor, but having owned both this blows the Z away in my book.
