Exactly, people who have problems will either seek help or complain to 10x as many people than those who are happy and have zero problems, so it does create a big disparity that can be very, very misleading.

I agree that no brake pad "should" ever crack, but by that expectation, no plane should ever crash, no car accident should ever happen, and no house should ever burn down. The reality is that we, as humans, are flawed. So we engineer things to the best of our ability and occasionally things can go sour. It's the difference between possibility and probability. While anything is possible, most problems we're reading about are not probable.

Fortunately, as a group of enthusiasts, we're all just trying to look out for each other.
