I prefer the flat 4 in the FR-S, for many of the reasons already stated here.
the v6 is not going away. Just like the turbo 4 is replacing the v6 in some applications, the v6-turbo is replacing the v8 in alot of truck applications, and is incredibly successful. Ford is making huge bucks on this setup in their trucks now. Their turbo-v6 (ecoboost) makes more power and torque than their N/A v8, and despite the price premium, has outsold the v8 versions by quite a bit.
