Interior quality probably depend more upon cost-cutting, global positioning rather than how it has a Scion vs a Toyota badge.

I believe the thinking is that the first gen tC is a 'Scionization' of an Avensis turned into a coupe.
As for me, my cars are late 80s and mid 90s, so I don't really 'get' this interior quality issue.
Anything I sit in will be ZOMGWTFBBQ, compared to what I'm in now...
