I am now a heavy diesel mechanic dealin with some big factory engines and just last week had to replace an actuator hose that had burnt through (was also heat wrapped) causing the engine to run extra boost, and that was a factory un tampered twin turbo V12 CAT engine
My A/C line sat 6" from the downpipe, yet after 6 months it cracked and blew. I repaired it, then 6 months later it did the same thing. I even tried wrapping the downpipe. The air around that turbo can get over 350*F and after prolonged beating I think it's only a matter of time. A heat shield would be a nice addition, even if it were small.

It could be reliable for 100k miles. I have no idea. But the concern is there nonetheless.
