I think it's a mistake to go back to unequal length headers. This engine and car are a leap forward for Subaru. The balanced extractors along with their optimum performance and sweet exhaust note are a vital part of that signature.
Now that I've heard the difference the old headers and exhaust note show they were a compromise to save money, with a bit more boost covering the lost performance.
