Not trying to continue the thread jack, but thats not true. If you remove the heat shield on the over pipe (assuming thats what you meant), you can get the over pipe out without raising the engine.

But if you did mean the front pipe, theres absolutely no reason to raise the engine as that pipe is behind the steering rack and runs along the transmission.
