Most of your negatives of the Porsche seem like a bit of an exaggeration and sounds more like denial. And i am not sure how the interior of the S is better than the Cayman, either way, they are leagues ahead of the FRS\BRZ.
Also, i dont think anybody will consider the Cayman and say no, it does not have a back seat. If that genuinly was your requirement, you would have not considered the Cayman, a 911 perhaps.
I think both the FRS\BRZ and the Cayman S are great cars for the money.
If you are talking about used Porsches in the price range of the BRZ, then i take what i said back.

I
was shopping with the intent to purchase a
used Cayman. The interior was lacking, but then again at the time I was driving a brand new Audi S4 with heated seats, nav, bluetooth, etc, so that could have skewed things a bit. The shifter linkage was vague and the knob was plastic. A plastic shift knob? Something easily changed, but still, come on! Granted, the cars I test drove had a blue and a tan interior; had they been black I might've changed my tune. I have driven the FR-S and sat in my friend's BRZ and I can say with confidence that I prefer their interiors, though
I didn't think I would. Neither one is perfect, mind you! As for the back seat, I prefer a 2-seater but the extra storage space of the FR-S/BRZ is a plus for hauling track-day extras.
