apparently they are the same as the Lexus IS200/300 etc.
i dont think it would adversely affect acceleration too much but that's where research comes in

Opening the transmission and replacing the gear is no problem. The problem would be getting the gear.
The problem with the final drive is that I'd need a pretty tall final drive to give me the overall ratio that I want. That, in turn, would drastically hurt acceleration.
