Think of it this way. The thing that you consider such a waste of your precious time and energy is so easy to do that you use more energy in a day pulling your phone out of your pocket to check the time than you would extending your pinky at the beginning of ever sentence. You post on the internet. This means you care enough about your thoughts to put them out into the world. Do you want those thoughts to be taken seriously by the people who are reading them?
The idea that using proper grammar is a "waste of time" and that certain people should not be held to such a standard, however low it may be, because their strengths lie elsewhere reflects a lazy, entitled mentality that is frightfully pervasive in the current generation of undergraduate students.

i think that a lot of it comes from the fact that i usually type in word. word will capitalize my words for me and now i have a bad habit.
