If an e-brake cable needs adjustment any car can roll with it still on, in fact pads really wouldn't effect the e-brake working because even if they were low or gone there would be metal on metal holding the car in place. The issue that it rolled in park, now that is a problem.

Interesting, I'll have to tell him this. But either way, my point was that there is a problem and it needs to be addressed before someone or someone's property gets hurt. I simply offered to help. Just from talking with him, he and his family hadn't chaged the pads yet on a car that was over a decade old (Adults are idiots too occasionally

). The pads need to be done whether they are causing this problem or not. Thanks for the tip.
