Well looking at Michelin Primacy HP tires the revs per mile of the stock tire is 844, and for the 224/45 it is 833, but the 225/50 is 803. So the 225/45 will be 1.3% taller and the 225/50 will be 5.1% taller than stock. The 1.3% difference is not that significant; but, I think making all your gears 5.1% taller and having your real speed be 5.1% higher than the speedometer reads is too big a difference for most owners.
