I like the level headed approach AVO is taking, no sense rushing to the market if you can not offer post sales support, on going tuning and prevent buyers remorse attrition from neglect.
they have been one of the few companies, that seems genuinely interested in data collection and refining a solution before bringing it to market, a la perrin. it makes sense to be late to the party if what you bring is truly the cake.
that said, mad props and respect to the pioneers who are first to market and putting them selves out in the front lines.
The best selling systems will be ones that are conservative, well tested and supported.
9 outta ten guys dont want a 10psi boosted, clutch eating, 300hp FRS, until its been out for a while. I want more power, but for now, i just want a little power boost, not alot.
those other 9 guys will however pony up for a more conservative 5psi setup properly packaged WITH a tune and airbox. So far visconti is closest to offering that solution, with perrin as a likely second, with SRT and VIVID as candidates if they were ECUtek shops. FA20club has potential too.
So far no one company has a end to end developed solution. its one companys header, another's turbo, anothers airbox. piece meal of a bunch of less than refined converged components
There is something to be learned from my experience with DINAN engineering with BMW, and its more than them being factory authorized ROM. Its the end to end work they sold me, from intake to tune to exhaust, its a turn key non show off make more power reliable solution. I love it.
Once the meat of gung ho types are burned thru with show off type 300+hp builds, and they start seeing failures; the 'masses' will seek the equivalent of VW GTI APR Stage 1, -a 40 whp boost- almost there...which is what DON/Visconti offers today. Then the next wave will be folks like myself who want a smallish turbo or supercharger. Nothing crazy, nothing to prove anything with. Stage 2.
AVO, as a manufacturer, not just a reseller, I hope you can develop the solutions we seek. Eager to see what you come up with.
