For instance, i differ from almost everyone i know in that i don't judge comfort (in a car) by how comfy the seat is and i don't swoon by super-soft struts. I like a stiff ride, with lots of engine/road noise and bolstered seats.

To expand on this, my Safari is proclaimed comfortable by the ladies in my life. Why? Well because the seats are super fluffy, and when i run over a pothole you barely notice. This to me, is not comfort. I don't feel comfortable in the van knowing that if i have to jerk the wheel or push the van in an emergency, the van will likely fail.

They complain that my Celica rides like a lumber-wagon and that you have to brace yourself when you see you're going to run over a nickel. But this is comfort to me-- a capable car. The seats murder your lumbar after 45minutes and the radio is useless over the other lovely noises the car makes. However, i know that the car is capable and that its limit is miles higher than the van's. I can stop on a dime, turn sharp, accelerate much faster, ect.

I dunno, i just kind of felt i needed to elaborate on the subjectivity i notice in "comfort." Perhaps i'm a strange person(?)

I'm also very tolerant when it comes to stiff rides but the FR-S is a luxury car compare to the Exige. I'm ok with it but it does get tiring on rough roads after a while especially when you know that its not doing the car any good either shaking everything loose. Definitely not a car you want to DD.
