...and this was why I had to get a WRX.

The FR-S is practical if you want to make it practical.

You can fit a bike in it. But no one can ride in the back seat.

You can fit a baby seat in it. But it can't be behind you and your passenger has to be 4' 3".

You can fit your friends in it. They also have to be 4' 3".

You can fill up your car to the brim with heavy stuff. But you'll feel it.

These are the trade offs in life. The FR-S is perfect if you only want one car, you're single, or wife does all the kid stuff, if you have and want a second car (which kinda defeats the purpose of DD the FR-S).

I have a WRX sedan and even I sometimes wished I would have gone for the hatchback; they are just so practical.

Numbers-wise the WRX and FR-S are about the same on a road track. Drag strip: WRX, FR-S: AutoX.

DD it depends because the cars are so different. The shifter on the WRX sucks and needs help (bushings, short shifter) to get it to a decent level. The stereo is a little less than OK. The turbo'ed engine is obviously not as responsive as an NA engine and handling-wise there is some body roll and understeer. Other than that, comparatively, it's still fun. Plus spend a little over 1K for a stage 2 and you can make 30-40 more hp.

I love the FR-S, but I didn't want to buy a new car and sell it a year or two later for a car with bigger space.
