I would be shocked if the figures will be much different to this and it is purely my opinion and guess that they wont be more than 5% out. And to be honest I dont think 5% either way is going to turn this car from hero to zero.

200bhp and 6.5 is pretty much what other 2.0 NA engines go for (in the UK) which is what my guess is based on.

Of course I would love Toyota to just out the figures, but im more interested in what they price it at and how it drives as the figures are only part the story.

Well, that's about what 2500lbs and 200hp would net you acceleration wise, mid-low 6s 0-60. I agree with you though, dying to know how it drives.

Anyway, As I see it, "Low 2000lbs" is less than 2500lbs, so the claim isn't entirely unreasonable, nor new. Both Car Magazine UK and AutoCar UK have claimed that the car will come in at around 1100kg, being 200kg lighter than a scirroco (2800+lbs) and 100kg lighter than an audi TT.
While I am pessimistic and don't expect this car to be lower than 2650-27xxlbs, I would have a cargasm if this car could curb that low (2450-2550lbs).
