Wheels: Volk Racing TE37, 17" x 8" +38, gold finish
Tires: Toyo Proxes R1R, 235/40/17
I had guessed at this fitment with the stats way back in mid-March, and ordered the wheels in late March. I knew it was going to take a while, since the "gold" finish is a custom one; I didn't think it would take until mid-August. Once I got the email from Scott at Ballistic Motorsports, in my mind I was shouting, "SUGOOOOOOOI!!"
The fitment was a pretty good guess. The inside strut clearance is almost dead-on what it is with the stock tires; about 3/4" away from the coil. No rubbing at all. The outside is just barely inside the fender, which is perfect. I'm getting a lot of comments about huge wheel gap, but this is a setup for autocross, to get 8 inches of tire on the ground. I haven't had a chance to play around, but I can't chirp the tires on demand anymore in VSC Sport, as I could with the 215-wide Primacy tires. That's a good thing, though; it means there's more cornering force.
I had a guy in a B5 A4 with an Audi-ring "dope" window sticker stop adjacent, give me a thumbs up and "Niiiice!", and he took a picture with his phone. That's very good praise
