And just FYI, I didn't just happen to be at a Toyota dealership and asked some random guy about the FR-S. He was taking names and deposits down to get the car and I asked him for some details and numbers. This is what he gave me. All the info he gave was reasonable and basically what we've been discussing, except maybe for the weight. I think it has some credence.
I also don't think he would just be lying about the weight to make the car seem better when all his other details were correct. It's not like he said that car will be 2200lbs, have 240 hp and will absolutely have an LSD. He also 'confirmed' that the car will not be turbo. (And I don't think the Toyota rep was lying to him for the same logic) Again, all things we know except the weight, so I think the weight could be accurate. And even if it isn't THAT low, I think we can be sure it will be well under 3k lbs.
But like I said, take it for what you will. Take it with a grain of salt, but I wouldn't completely dismiss it. At the very least, it isn't on the same level of "my friend's cousin's brother-in-law knows a guy who works at a Toyota dealership and he said that...".
