From the outside, listening to americans talk about manual/auto transmissions is pretty funny.
It seems like people like to exclaim that they can drive a manual car like it is a hard thing to do, when im pretty sure that most of the other continents on this planet have majority MT drivers in their countries and dont think anything about it.
But, if the UK toyota version comes with an automatic, dual clutch, I'll test drive both - I recently drove the VW Polo GTI (1.4 litre supercharged and turbo'd, 180BHP engine with 7 speed DSG + paddles) and that was a really cool little motor, paddles for when you want to pick the right gear for a corner, auto for when you just want to be lazy and go to work in morning-zombie mode.
I don't think id miss anything from a manual trans like in my current car, clutch progression is overrated to me at the moment, because i dont go around drifting everywhere and id rather use a bike on a track day
