also, there is nothing preventing a traditional auto from working well on a small engine, except money and mpgs. the cost of a high performance auto is a lot and high performance autos drain mpgs. not really an issue on an AMG Mercedes getting 12mpg... but certainly an issue on something trying to be economical.

The manual might get about 1mpg better city/highway, but that's negligible for me. The real question will be which one is faster...
