To blame an auto transmission for not being able to make more power is basically stating that as you increase flywheel HP, the transmission consumes more and more power, negating the increase. While this is true to some degree (drivetrain loss is a percentage), it would never negate total gains.
200bhp - 25% = 150whp
400bhp - 25% = 300whp
and so on, and so forth.

I bet it has something to do with the fact that the car
HAS an auto and not just because the transmission
IS an auto.
Keep in mind that owners with autos also cannot launch their cars for some reason and Im thinking that the launch is not the only thing being held back on the auto for some reason.
