Looking at the pics I realized us BRZ/FRS owners are pretty anal. Check out the consistency in the way the pairs of hose clamps are installed.

I undid my ziptie and used the stock clip as plxdjake89 suggested. Still can't say I notice any sort of power difference but the sound is nice. It's probably in my head but I thought I noticed some lag from the throttle, wasn't sure if I just messed up the install but everything looks straight.
