I have not read all of the above but option one is great. I can understand the clear bra issue. Here is my reasoning: Its aftermarket, its your property, it is not damaged or related to the damaged piece. You can still do what you want with it whatever that may be. Its like if you had an aftermarket license plate holder that you could not remove without damaging it for some, in this case, fictional reason. Why should a company care about your belongings that you did not purchase through them? It does suck but if you got into an accident that totaled the car the insurance company will replace the car and not the clear bra or your other non damaged personal belongings. Essentially the ''insured'' part, in your case, the whole car, is being replaced, they don't have any obligation to replace your ''non insured'' personal belongings. Dont get me wrong it blows but the fact that they offered option two tells me that legally they didn't need to replace the car and that it is a gesture of good will/marketing. I would absolutely take option 1. Hell by then they will probably have a few more bugs worked out anyway.
