One thing you should question:
What happens if you get into an accident?
I guess the law is different from state to state for this as Justin says, but when I went through something similar, I was told that everything gets void if I get into an accident regardless of it being my fault or not. And one suggestion I was given to avoid that was to leave the car at their possession until everything is done.
