You're getting way more from them than you would ever get even if this had fallen under the lemon law, which it doesn't. Heck, in order to get satisfaction from an automaker in a lemon law situation, your car has to spend months out of service getting repaired, and the repairs aren't cosmetic - they're actual mechanical issues that prevent the vehicle from operating properly.

I can speak from experience that what I bolded above is not true.
Now, if you're talking about refund of 100% of purchase price, then I agree.
But technically, lemon law could apply to a cosmetic issue like just an abnormal noise as long as it lowers the value of the car, but you would have to take the depreciation loss which is 1% per 1000 miles.
