Happened to me in 2003. I bought the 04 STi and the 05 had rediculous amounts of upgrades. Didn't bother me. I was happy that I had an STi regardless of what ever the next car had.
Cars will only ever get better. They aren't going to build a car and break a mold to never make the next one better.
If your worried about the next car being better then wait for the next car. It will be better in some way.
