I think it's a waste(I'm not making $125k)...but let this guy do his trickle down economics. That shop will keep a guy employed, who in turn gives his son an allowance, who in turn takes his girlfriend to the movies, who now keeps an extra employee on hand...the cycle continues.
He could just sell the car and buy a BRZ and get all the updates/adjustments the newer year will have and come out not only ahead financially, but have a better and newer vehicle too. Aaaaand, the car will be perfectly painted.
