Im reference to that article: don't see how the FT version could cost near $25,000.
Look at the GTI for instance:
I know they aren't direct competitors but for younger car shoppers, specifically males, the two cars provide what they may be looking for.
The GTI is massively optioned (for a sport compact) with luxury features you might find in BMW/MB/Audi. Even with the soft touch materials and features galore the price starts at just over $23,000.
If we are actually going to see a light weight, stripped down, low power N/A engine AND parts sharing to cut costs then I see no reason for a price over $20,000.
A more reasonable comparison would probably be the RWD Genesis 2.0T. Turbocharged base model for around $23,000 as well.
