I actually played with this theory today, and it does prove true best I can tell. I was coming around an on-ramp earlier with miles of space all around me. I sped up (Still WELL within comfortable control), then backed off a bit mid-apex.
The back DEFINITELY started to rotate, but not to the point of squeal, it was just a well defined feeling of rotation. Now, this was also at VERY reasonable speeds over a very wide turn, so in tighter, faster situations, I would expect the results to be equally more dramatic.
Soon as my break-in is complete, I REALLY want to hit an auto-cross as soon as possible to see just what happens when I'm pushing. Rather figure it out when all I stand to hit is a cone, versus another car or something decidedly more solid.
