Kinda scrolled to the bottom here but my 2 cents is: Sell/Trade the 4x4 for a used Subaru that you can both drive (all wheel drive good for winter/ rough roads) small enough that wife is comfy getting in and out. Room for car seat(s). Good safety record.
You get to keep an iconic car 
The FRS is a great daily driver/car/piece of art/history. Dont swap it for some mundane P.O.S.
