Toyota replaced the knob, the original knob was threaded too far down at the factory so they opened a ticket with Toyota. The rattle they attempted to address by putting grease on a part below the boot that slides on the shaft. The mechanic says there is too much play in that part and opened a ticket with Toyota. Mine still rattles.
