Was this your car that it happened to? A modern year 2000+ car should not have a problem with "eating" fuel lines.

However the fuel pump and bigger injectors being required of course! E85 only has 75% the potential energy of gasoline so at least 30 percent more fuel is required and most stock systems are not meant to handle that increase.
