The problem is that you are looking at printed magazine/website numbers. These numbers are generalized bhp numbers.
I was looking at true actual real life dyno numbers. The average 2012-2013 Mustang GT makes around 370whp. I've seen ~350-390whp. Also, the new Mustang's handling is very good.
You are confusing bhp and whp.
Whp (wheel horsepower / to the wheels) is what you see on a dyno where someone is in the car and flooring it while the wheels spin.
Bhp (break horsepower) is the horsepower an engine gets sitting OUT of the car (not attached to the car) on a motor dyno. These are the numbers that you will usually see when on auto websites and magazines.
