Now assuming you've got a good private parking lot to play, here's something I wish someone had told me early on:

Empty parking lots are fun but you can develop bad habits just aimlessly doing donuts. Put a couple cones in the parking lot and use them as points of reference. Don't just go in one direction -- do figure 8's. It trains you to keep your eyes up and get comfortable with weight transitions.
