I have rear facing Recaro Proride seat in the BRZ - it fits, but your wife will need to work with her spaces on the front passenger side.
To take baby in/out of the car, you will need to enter from the driver's side by sliding the driver's seat all the way forward, carry the baby like a topedo, then sit in the driver side rear seat, put baby into the rear facing seat... it works well and should not hurt your back...
Congrats on the purchase - HK got some decent roads where you can have fun.
