This may sound odd but drag tires do not destroy the cars handling as much as you would think, they do some, but they also wear much, much faster. This forces usually 2-3 pit stops within an hour long race and can add a lot of strategy and fun to a long race with a good number of people involved.
The thing is, we will be running with the damage set to cosmetic just incase someone has a major accident on lap 1. I would hate to see someone do 24 more laps at 3 seconds slower a lap simply because they had too much Aero damage. tire wear doesn't really factor in.

However, collisions will be set to "ON" meaning that you will need to control your car once you go off track. Maybe I should go over the full race rules.

Format will be a 15 minute qualifying session followed by 25 laps of racing. During qualifying, the best clean laptime will take pole, followed by second best so on and so on. The key is to be clean in qualifying. Cars will be staggered at the start so everyone has space and should not run into any aero penalties.

Also, we will be enforcing a pitstop rule to allow for some strategy in the race. We will do either 1 or 2 stops per race and you must complete them before the race is over. Any missed pitstops results in DQ for the race.

During the race, we have "yellow flags" or "cautions". The way it works is like this.

If 2 cars crash by accident and 1 car loses places or is seriously hindered (by being knocked off track for example), its up to the 2 drivers envolved to call "caution" or "yellow flag". At this point the leader must slow down to a crawling pace to allow the field to catch back up. The race will then be restarted by the leader when we take to the start finish straight. I'll explain restarts in a bit. If niether drivers say "caution", the accident never happened.

TO BE CLEAR - If 2 cars just bump each other in the heat of battle but nothing major happens, this is simply a racing incident. We should avoid calling Caution unless its serious. This also means that yelling "Caution" on the MIC as a joke is NOT tolerated at all as it can fuck up the entire race.

If you happen to crash while on course yourself, or if you crash around other cars but happen to not hit any of them, its not deemed a "yellow flag". You cannot say "caution" to slow the field because of your own mistakes. If you do (on purpose) This will get you disqualified from the event (we've never had to enforce this rule but we will if we have too).

Restarts work like this. The leader will announce a speed to the field (say 50mph for example) of their choosing but nothing excessive like 100mph or 10mph. Everyone must follow the leader off the final corner and onto the start finish straight. Once on the start finish straight, the leader can call "GO or Green Flag" to announce the race is back on. Nobody is allowed to pass or pull out until the leader actually says go. If the leader forgets or doesn't say go by the start finish line, its up to 2nd place to announce GO GO GO to the rest of the field. This typically happens when someones mic dies or lag causes miscommunication.

We call this rule the "Nihilation rule" because he would always try and delay the restart and it causes trouble in turn 1 if you do.

Other then that, the points system is the only thing left. Points will be awarded for pole and positions. The points break down works like this.

1st place - 10 points
2nd place - 8 points
3rd place - 6 points
4th place - 5 points
5th place - 4 points
6th place - 3 points
7th place - 2 points
8th place - 1 point

1 point will also be given for pole position. I'm also thinking we give the new guys a break here and give the best novice driver 1 extra point for finishing as the top novice. A novice will be deemed as anyone who has not done an offical race with us before. So all you new guys who are worried about being slow, you guys can fight for that 1 extra point without Dragonjet or myself taking it away from you.

If you guys have questions, please feel free to ask. I kinda wrote this in a bit of a hurry.
