3D scanner and STL files

Since I race a FRS, it has become all to familiar to be replacing mountains of plastic bits that hide behind our fenders and bumpers.

Headlight brackets, bumper clips, side markers, etc.

Has anyone used a 3D Scanner to replicate these items? I don't see thing like this on any of the 3d sites like Printables, Thingiverse etc.

We are starting a "PRO86" class up in the NW that will likely become a large racing group and I bet I could justify the cost, assuming they work as intended so I'm soliciting feedback here if anyone has used one to replicate such intricate parts.
