I did send a message to the contact link but not heard back. Very annoying situation. Its not the only forum i've run into this with where there isn't an option to delete account.

Yeah, it does suck. Just as much as because the "owner" of the site has largely checked out and even the moderators also seem to have checked out. It would be great if they would "sell" it someone but there doesn't seem to be any indication who even "owns" it.
