As far as I understand it the car wasn't built by Toyota at all. They basically had the idea and maybe renders for it and then contracted it out to a shop/outside production team to build it.

Doesn't mean Toyota isn't planning a new car but I don't think they're using this for anything other than gauging fan/market reaction.

Also, someone I know told me this car is likely being crushed after it's done at SEMA unfortunately.
